Snails in Red Sauce

A very special food for the few that like delicacies like that.

  • 1 Pot


  • 5 Handfuls of Snails
  • 3 Tomatoes
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 1 Handful Parsley
  • 1 Zucchini Opional
  • 150 ml Tomato Juice
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt & Pepper


  • Cut all the vegetables in sizes you like
  • Add the olive oil to the pot. Enough to cover the bottom and a bit more. Heat it up on high heat.
  • When ready add the onions and cook for 1-2 min/ until they start getting some color.
  • Add the Snails and mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Next add the potatoes a mix well followed but they Zucchini. Mix and cook 2 minutes.
  • Add the graded tomatoes, tomato juice and parsley. Cook for 15-20 min. ( Until the potatoes are nice and soft. ) You can close the pot's lid to cook a bit faster.
  • Server in a swallow plate, sprinkle with some fresh parsley and enjoy.



In our video we accompanied the dish with some Greek salad and Ouzo. This dish can be served as main dish for Lunch or Dinner. It can be served as a side dish or a great main drinking dish.
