Victory Conditions: 500 points
Scoring: 2 points per player kill, 25 points per captured area, 100 points for capturing all 3 areas before time runs out.
Overview
This match is pretty straight forward: kill or be killed, but avoid the trolls! That’s right, trolls. You’re fighting on their turf, and they’re not too keen on either side being in the area. Because you’re trespassing, the not-so-friendly trolls hurl large boulders into the area from time to time. These boulders aren’t lethal, but they cause a hefty knock back to anyone they hit. This throws a bit of variety into the scenario. Or at least they used to.
Intended Mechanics
- Dominate the mountain top (race there)
- Capture the flag and capture points
- Escort the flag carrier to the capture points while fighting and protecting.
Order & Destruction Strategy
When you first enter the scenario you can go straight ahead or take an alternate path out of the spawn area. Most of the play area is lowlands with large boulders breaking up the space, but a large tree mound in the middle has spiraling walkways up both sides for an elevated fight. Gain the high ground first and gain the advantage, by forcing the enemy to come to you. The disadvantage to being in this elevated position for both sides is knock back vulnerability. Don’t get too comfortable on your perch because it’s just a matter of time before you get knocked off. Once you’ve thinned the opposition out around the tree, grab the flag and run to one of the troll positions to score points. Then the next one and the next one. There are three in total. Support the carrier to complete their mission. Carrier death, time out tor capture all three locations resets the flag. Repeat to win.
Best Winning Strategy
- Don’t waste anytime and rush to the top but move closer to the enemies area and try and punt some as they come up. (People tend to lose a few seconds before they move)
- IF this does not work, position yourself with the your back against the tree to avoid be punted and you your punts when available.
- Keeping the enemy closer to their ramp allows you to pick up the flag and run it while they are busy. (Most people focus on the fight)
IF you win the initial fight – contain the enemy near their war camp to allow a runner to keep capturing the points. Always keep an eye out as some might sneak by and kill the carrier. Keep them busy and keep blocking.
IF you lost the initial fight – Regroup and aim to kill the carrier and if you can spare one person to stay on top to grab the flag quickly and cap even 1 point. You can cap 1 point per re spawn if not all three, points are points. Moving solo or one by one in this map the worst thing to do as the enemy will 100% move as one escorting the flag carrier.
