Serpent’s Passage Scenario

Victory Conditions: 500 points

Scoring: 2 points per player kill, 75 points per captured ship salvage.

Overview

Two vessels are forced ashore from violent storms and have massive hull damage. Both Dark Elves and High Elves are forced to battle each other over spare parts from other storm-wrecked ships. The goal of the scenario is to bring back salvage to your home base (essentially single-flag Capture the Flag). The only problem? The enemy wants to do the same thing.

RvR Tip: Remember to switch your gear and Tactics for small scale fights (single target) play before entering a scenario.

Intended Mechanics

  • Both teams start along the north coast, with Order to the East side and Destruction to the West side.
  • The only points scored in this scenario are from capturing salvage and of course small amount (+2) per kill.
  • Both teams need to go to the far south the capture the salvage (instead of a flag) and carry it to the drop site on their starting areas.

Order & Destruction Strategy

Buff your groups mount up and head south to the salvage location. Push the enemies back and secure the salvage area. One member of your team can pick up the salvage and transport it to the drop area near your spawn point. The drop area is a big wagon outside your spawn point.

RvR Tip: Keep an eye out for Witch Elves and Witch Hunters. They will gang and kill the carrier if unprotected. 

Best Winning Strategy

1. Move to the middle of the map and go behind your enemy using the area marked quick access on the map show above. This will allow you to hit the back lines fast (healers, ranged DPS).
2. Keep fighting to secure the salvage. Most likely the enemy has already captured the salvage, so focus and kill the carrier. Alternatively you can slow the carrier down and burst him down after the healers. If the carrier dies the salvage resets. With this move you have the capability to hit the back lines effectively and block the carrier at the same time.
3. Once the fight is going your way you have two options.

a. Keep pushing until enemy war camp and then pick up the salvage to end Scenario faster.
b. Move back to regroup / recover and escort the salvage back to camp and then push fro another fight.

Important: Escort the salvage back to base with minimum support depending on scenario situation. Once delivered it will reset and the enemy can pick it up as well. Make sure the salvage area is secure for a second run. IF you can’t do that due to an even matched scenario, then use the Pass through areas as shown in the above map while mounted to save time and intercept the enemy carrier before delivery and reset for your team to pick up.

Things to note:

  1. Best class to carry is a melee DPS. They can use charge and then flee to cover more distance faster. IF under pressure in an even scenario then a tank that can be healed and carry while under fire.
  2. You can not mount while carrying the salvage.
  3. You can not stealth while carrying the salvage.
  4. Dying resets the Salvage.
  5. Delivering the Salvage resets it on the original location.
