The Sacellum: A Guide for Champions
Location: Inevitable City Player Capacity: 6-Player Instanced Dungeon Recommended Ranks: 13–20 Difficulty Grade: 2 Key Loot: Starter Gear
The Sacellum, a formidable arena within the Inevitable City, serves as a staging ground for both caged beasts and esteemed champions awaiting their call to battle. This instanced dungeon is also home to enraged servants and other volatile forces. Its layout primarily consists of hallways leading to side rooms where named combatants reside. The Sacellum offers three distinct entry points, each corresponding to a different difficulty level: low, mid, and high.
Dungeon Wings
The Sacellum is divided into three distinct wings, each presenting unique challenges and adversaries:
Wing 1: Ragehorn Tribe The Ragehorn tribe of Khorne beastmen, led by Vul the Bloodchosen, has entered the Sacellum to honor their Blood God through combat.
Wing 2: Mawgut Ogres The Mawgut ogres have brought their wildest kin and creatures to the Sacellum, seeking both prizes and sustenance.
Wing 3: Menagerie of Beasts This wing houses a diverse collection of beasts from across the world, maintained by the defeated and broken servants of the Sacellum.
Boss Encounters and Mechanics
Ghalmar Ragehorn
- Challenging Roar: An Area-of-Effect (AoE) knockback that also roots affected players.
- Malghar’s Challenge: Following “Challenging Roar,” Malghar designates a single target with a dummy mark, focusing his subsequent attacks on this player.
- Bestial Flurry: A channeled melee attack directed at Malghar’s challenged target.
- Wild Strike: A frontal cleave attack, not utilized during “Challenging Roar.”
Strategy: The primary objective for this encounter is to ensure the challenged target survives “Bestial Flurry.”
The Unclean One
- Regurgitate: When The Unclean One’s “stomach gets upset,” it will regurgitate all players currently inside its belly. At this point, all associated marauders and nurglings will be defeated, and the Bile Lord’s health will be significantly reduced, allowing players to finish the encounter.
Goremane
- Lacerating Talons: A random-target melee-range strike.
- Tail Spikes: A random-target ranged attack.
- Furious Roar: A stun applied to the tank, accompanied by a hate wipe. A second tank must be prepared to quickly regain aggro.
Strategy: The entire group will sustain continuous damage throughout this fight. Both tanks must be prepared to respond immediately when “Furious Roar” is used.
Hoarfrost
- Freezing Aura: The Yhettee will deploy a freezing aura at its current location, which persists for 30 seconds. Players within the aura will take damage and experience a reduction in attack speed.
- Grasp of Frost: A single-target root applied to the tank, requiring a cure to prevent the tank from being immobilized within the “Freezing Aura.”
Strategy: The boss must be consistently repositioned around the room to ensure the tank and other players remain outside of the “Freezing Aura.”
Lorth & Slorth Thunderbelly
- Leadbelcher Blast: A high-damage, long-range line attack.
- Swinging Cannon: A short-duration stun and knockdown applied to the tank.
Strategy: Both Leadbelchers must be kept facing away from the group. Players must avoid being caught in the line of fire from their cannon blasts.
Secraw the Discarded
- Gorging Bite: A channeled, focused melee attack targeting the tank.
- Smash: A channeled stomp attack during which Secraw roots himself. Players must move away from him to avoid damage.
Strategy: The key challenges in this encounter are keeping the tank alive through “Gorging Bite” and successfully evading “Smash.”
Snaptail the Breeder
- Anguished Screech: An AoE silence with a long range. Each time this ability is used, an egg will hatch.
- Wyvern Sting: A 360-degree knockback that also applies a Damage-over-Time (DoT) effect.
Strategy: Each use of “Anguished Screech” will cause one of the eggs around the room to spawn two “Core Con Wyvern Broodlings” that must be dealt with by the group.
Uzhak the Betrayer
- Centigor Charge: Uzhak will randomly charge targets throughout the fight, applying a 7-second stun and a minor knockback.
Strategy: Players must react promptly to various party members, including healers, being temporarily incapacitated by “Centigor Charge.”
Viracil the Broken
- Hydra Smash: A melee-range cleave attack.
- Torrent of Flame: A random-target projectile that leaves a damaging fire font, which players must move out of.
- Cone of Flame: A high-damage cone breath attack. Viracil will announce this attack and root himself, requiring players to move away from him.
Strategy: The group must maintain mobility to avoid “Torrents of Flame” and be prepared to react quickly to “Cone of Flame.”
Vul the Bloodchosen
- Gushing Axes: An AoE axe throw targeting players at range.
- Skulltaker: A melee-range 360-degree strike.
- Bloodrage: Increases damage output by 20%
Strategy: Players must be prepared for the entire group to take damage. At 10% health, Vul will gain “Bloodrage,” increasing his damage by 20%. Players should reserve cooldowns and morales for this phase to quickly finish him off.
