Altdorf Sewers: A Tier 1 Dungeon Guide
The Altdorf Sewers serve as a crucial Tier 1 dungeon, designed for players ranging from levels 15 to 17. Higher-level players may also enter to assist lower-level groups; however, it is important to note that active dungeon quests for higher-level characters will result in debuffs.
Completion of the Boss Kill Quests within this dungeon awards pieces of the Keeper Set. These quests can be acquired from Non-Player Characters (NPCs) located in Southeast Altdorf, specifically around coordinates 32k/50k on the in-game map.
The Altdorf Sewers are structured into three primary wings:
-
Southern
-
Northern
-
Middle
Southern Sewers
Boss 1: Kokrit Man-Eater
Kokrit Man-Eater, a colossal Skaven Rat Ogre, is the sole boss encountered in the Southern Sewers.
Abilities:
- Ground Smash: This Area of Effect (AoE) ability inflicts damage upon all nearby players. Kokrit will audibly declare “Thwap! Thwap!! Thwap!!” prior to executing this attack. The damage dealt by Ground Smash scales with the number of players in its vicinity.
Tactics:
- Tank Positioning: It is highly recommended that the tank repositions Kokrit into the room preceding his spawn location. This provides the party with ample space to spread out and mitigate the damage from Ground Smash.
- Upon defeating Kokrit, players should locate the Mysterious Halfling to the right, near the exit, and accept any available quests.
Northern Sewers
Boss 2: The Bulbous One
The Bulbous One is the second boss encountered, situated in the Northern Sewers.
Abilities & Tactics:
- Healers: Be vigilant for cleansable debuffs on party members and apply dispels as necessary.
- This encounter is generally straightforward. For groups consisting primarily of low-level players, it is advisable to approach the preceding enemy groups cautiously, avoiding large pulls that could overwhelm the party.
Boss 3: Vermer and Prot Fangchitter
The final challenge of the Northern wing involves a dual-boss encounter against the Fangchitter Skaven, Prot and Vermer.
Abilities & Tactics:
- Green AoE Puddles: Throughout this fight, the Fangchitter Skaven will spawn green AoE puddles on the ground. All players must swiftly move out of these detrimental zones and remain mobile for the duration of the encounter.
- Tanking Strategy: If the group includes two tanks, it is optimal for each tank to engage one of the bosses, splitting their focus.
Middle Sewers
Boss 4: Master Moulder Vitchek
Master Moulder Vitchek is accompanied by two Rat Ogre allies who will immediately engage the party upon initiation of the fight.
Tactics:
- Players have two primary strategies for this encounter:
- Focus Rat Ogres First: Prioritize eliminating the two Rat Ogres. Vitchek will attempt to heal them, so coordinated damage is essential.
- Burn the Boss: Alternatively, groups with sufficient damage output may choose to focus all damage on Master Moulder Vitchek, ignoring his allies.
Boss 5: Goradian the Creator
Goradian the Creator, a deranged Empire Wizard, represents the final boss of the Altdorf Sewers.
Abilities & Tactics:
- Initial Engagement: Goradian can be engaged within his initial small room, or a ranged DPS or pet can be used to pull him into a more open area. A magical barrier will materialize at the doorway once he is engaged, preventing direct retreat into the preceding area.
- Immunity Phases & Adds: As Goradian’s health diminishes, he will periodically become immune to damage. During these phases, he will summon waves of smaller enemy mobs. Players must defeat these summoned creatures to break Goradian’s immunity and resume the fight against him.
Upon successful completion of all boss encounters, players should return to the designated Quest Givers in Southeast Altdorf or Sigmar’s Hammer to claim their well-earned Keeper Set rewards.
