Dungeon Guide: Bastion Stairs | Left Wing

Left Wing Guide

Boss 1: Borzhar Rageborn

This is the first required boss of the left wing.

  • Tanking Position: Most groups pull the boss out of his room and tank him just outside the entrance on the left.
  • Banners & Adds: The boss room contains two banners (the Banner of the Bloodherd and the Banner of Bloodlust). Borzhar will continuously spawn Bloodhord Gor adds unless the banner is destroyed. These adds are generally low-damage and can be AoE’d down while focusing on the boss.
  • AoE Damage: The boss deals consistent AoE damage, requiring healers to stay vigilant.
  • Loot: Borzhar Rageborn drops a decent DPS-focused Bloodlord Amulet, which is not part of the Bloodlord Set.

Boss 2: Gahlvoth Darkrage

Gahlvoth is a towering Dragon Ogre with a pet bloodhound named Beastrip.

  • Pet Management: Do not kill Beastrip. If the pet dies, the boss will enrage and wipe the party. An off-tank or healer should pull Beastrip out of the room to keep it away from the fight.
  • Lightning Strikes & AoE: The boss will call down lightning strikes, which leave behind an electric AoE on the floor. Players must continuously move out of these AoEs. The tank can follow a circular pattern to manage the AoE zones as the older ones despawn.
  • Interruptible Knockback: The boss has a powerful knockback skill. When he slowly raises his axe, a player must use a taunt or an interrupt within the very short window to prevent the ability.
  • Loot: Gahlvoth Darkrage drops the Bloodlord Boots.

Boss 3: Azuk’Thul

This boss is found in a fiery arena and introduces a unique healing-related mechanic.

  • Curse of Khorne: The main mechanic of this fight is the Curse of Khorne, which reflects damage back to anyone who casts a heal. Almost all healing abilities will trigger this, including HoTs (Heals over Time) and small heals. Healers must be extremely careful.
  • Tanking Position: The tank should hold the boss near the platform where he starts, facing him away from the group to mitigate frontal cleave damage.
  • HoT Caution: While group heals are generally manageable, HoTs will deal significant damage back to the healer and may cause a quick death.
  • Loot: Azuk’Thul drops the Bloodlord Gloves.

Boss 4: Thar’Ignan

The final boss of the left wing is the Doombull Thar’Ignan.

  • Tanking Position: The tank should hold the boss near the middle of the room, where the crumbling floor meets the dirt.
  • Punt & Root: For every 10% of health lost, the boss will punt a random party member, rooting them in place. Two champion hounds will then spawn and attack the rooted player. The rest of the party (excluding the main tank) must quickly move to assist and kill the hounds.
  • Aggro Reset: Punted players lose all aggro. In a dual-tank setup, it’s crucial for both tanks to maintain high threat to ensure the boss doesn’t switch to a DPS or healer if a tank gets punted.
  • Healing Mechanic: If any mob or player dies near the boss, he will heal for a significant amount of health.
  • Tank Damage: The boss has a powerful, undefendable attack (“Me chops you in half, hurr!”) that deals massive damage to the tank. Healers must ensure the tank’s health is always topped off.
  • Loot: Thar’Ignan drops the Bloodlord Shoulders.
