Scenario Type: King of the Hill
Size: 18 Vs 18
Time Limit: 15 minutes
Victory Conditions: 500 points
Overview
There are two points to capture: The Loft, and the Atrium. The tower is designed vertically, the Loft is above the Atrium, and the Oculus of Change above both of them. There are spiraling staircases that will take you up to each level, inside and outside of the tower.
When your faction controls both points needs to capture the Oculus to gain extra points and reset the Battle Objective flags to be recaptured! When this happens the tower will be purged by fire, killing everyone within. (This mechanic might have been removed and no one dies). The capture of the Oculus needs to happen with in 30-40 sec after the second capture or you will start to lose points until you get to zero and then the flags will reset once again.
Intended Mechanics
- Capture Flags (floors 1 & 2)
- Capture the Oculus
- Fight in between locations
Order & Destruction Strategy
Each side begins on a island separate from the main battleground. There are two launchpads, one that will take you to the top of the tower, and one that will take you to the bottom. The one that takes you to the top is the most useful– it takes you directly to the room where it will be. Controlling the top floor is essential to this Scenario as it will give you the ability to capture fast once you have captured the two flags. It is better to first control / dominate the top floor and then one person capture the flags IF you want. If your enemy has the points they will gain points for a capture and might even show more Scenario points that you. BUT they will start to loose points after a while so no need to panic or capture flags just wait.
Best Winning Strategy (This far)
- Use the right pad to go on the top floor (All players).
- Push out and control / dominate top room (Kill all enemies).
- Stay in top room (Never leave it).
- Step 3 will force a surrender if you are winning. If they cap the flags stay and defend top room they will loose those points over time even if they are higher (temporarily from you).
- IF you are impatient and IF you control top floor 100% (Enemy gave up) capture flags with ONE person and click the Oculus to gain more points to end scenario before surrender timer.
Other strategies that you could employ if you are losing are:
- Try and push all together after regrouping on top floor behind the protective barrier. Never go in alone. Use the in game chat to organize.
- Try to attach from two directions to break the barrier blockade. From the barrier you can jump from the sides and enter the room from the side giving you multiple points of entry.
- Cap both flags and make a push for 1 person to capture the Oculus. You need 2 sec to capture by clinking on it. Be careful you can be interrupted but everything, single target damage, interrupts, AoE damage. Make sure you can click it undisturbed. (Be sneaky). A stealth class could do this if the rest are distracting the enemy.
- Capture 1 flag to gain points. If you control only 1 flag then you gain points every tick like a normal flag. If you capture the second as well you will start loosing points and need to click the Oculus or be reset to zero. IF the enemy capture the other flag then they will gain points every tick. IF you are ahead don’t worry since the point rise evenly you will still have more. However be careful not to loose the lead by kills. If the enemy has a flag and gets more kills then they might find themselves leading the point race. This strategy (4) can also be used a a starting strategy with its own risks if not successful.
